As one of South Africa’s only private higher-education institutions focused exclusively on engineering, ECST delivers a specialised, high-quality learning experience that prepares students for success in a rapidly evolving industry.

Our blended learning model combines:

• Hands-on workshops and practical training for applied skills, and
• Interactive online learning supported by advanced technologies and remote labs.

This approach gives students the flexibility to study from anywhere while gaining the real-world experience and teamwork skills that employers value most.

• The Bachelor of Engineering Technology programmes in Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are ECSA-endorsed, and graduates may apply for Professional Engineering Technologist registration after meeting post-qualification experience requirements.
• ECST is provisionally registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) until 31 December 2028 as a private higher-education institution under the Higher Education Act (1997).

ECST is affiliated with two respected international institutions in engineering education:

• Engineering Institute of Technology (EIT) – an award-winning Australian institution offering accredited on-campus and online degrees, vocational courses, and professional development.
• Engineering College of Technology (ECT) – a UK-based institution providing UK-recognised qualifications.

These affiliations create international study pathways for ECST graduates, including opportunities to pursue globally recognised master’s degrees (subject to meeting conditions of entry).
