Join the ECST Bootcamp this July holiday for an intensive 4-day Mathematics and Physical Science revision, designed to help matric learners prepare with confidence for their upcoming exams.

Hosted at the ECST Midrand campus, this bootcamp gives students the opportunity to revise key concepts, strengthen problem-solving skills, and improve exam technique in a focused campus learning environment. Sessions will be led by experienced and qualified Mathematics and Science lecturers who understand the challenges students face during matric preparation.

Whether you want to sharpen your understanding, practice past papers, or gain extra support ahead of exams, this bootcamp is designed to help you feel more prepared and confident.

  • Time: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM daily
  • Location: ECST Midrand Campus
  • Who Can Join: Matric learners taking Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Tickets: Free event. However, you must register online to attend as spaces are limited to ensure a focused and supportive learning experience.

Bootcamp Breakdown

  • Mathematics: Monday, 13 July – Tuesday, 14 July 2026
  • Physical Science: Wednesday, 15 July – Thursday, 16 July 2026

What to Expect:

Throughout the bootcamp, students will participate in focused revision and guided support sessions designed to strengthen both understanding and exam readiness.

Participants will:

  • Revise key Mathematics and Physical Science concepts
  • Work through examples and problem-solving exercises
  • Practice past exam papers
  • Learn exam techniques and strategies
  • Receive focused support from experienced lecturers

Requirements

  • Current matric learner taking Mathematics and Physical Science
  • Parent or guardian consent letter required

Meet the Lecturers:

Lecturer Samkelo Nene

Leading the Mathematics Bootcamp Sessions is Samkelo Nene, Lecturer at EIT.

Samkelo Nene is a Candidate Engineering Technologist registered with ECSA and holds a BEng Tech (Honours) in Electrical Power Engineering. His expertise spans power systems, transformers, power electronics, and energy policy. An award-winning student and member of the Golden Key International Honour Society, Samkelo is passionate about connecting engineering theory with real-world applications through engaging and practical teaching. He has also contributed to South Africa’s G20 Energy Transitions Working Group, supporting discussions on sustainable energy and international collaboration.

Lecturer Eldridge Mapfumo

Leading the Physical Science Bootcamp Sessions is Eldridge Mapfumo, Head of Academics at EIT.

Eldridge Mapfumo is an experienced academic leader and mechanical engineer with over a decade of experience across higher education, engineering consulting, and project leadership. He specialises in academic programme development, curriculum design, quality assurance, and strategic academic management. Alongside his academic leadership, he has delivered major engineering projects across the energy, infrastructure, and consulting sectors. Eldridge holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education (cum laude), and is currently completing a PhD in Industrial Engineering.
